The 30-year-old’s mere involvement saw the stands swell as 67,385 supporters flocked to see him pull on a Sounders shirt for the first time at at CenturyLink Field in a 1-0 victory, marking it as the largest-ever attendance for a soccer game in Seattle.
If there were ever any doubts over the popularity of the MLS in the United States, they were laid to rest in the Emerald City.
