Le Batard also tried to get full-page ad in Ohio newspapers…
According to the Miami Herald, ESPN have suspended Dan Le Batard for two days after his stunt in creating a billboard aimed at LeBron James in Cleveland.
While there had been some confusion as the presenter hadn’t officially confirmed that he was indeed behind the billboard, his suspension does suggest that he was as Herald reporter Barry Jackson tweeted snippets of a statement from ESPN.
It noted that Le Batard’s “recent stunt does not reflect ESPN’s standards and brand. Additionally, we were not made aware of his plans in advance.”
Le Batard insisted that it was meant as a joke but he will not return to his TV and radio show until Monday as punishment for the prank.
The billboard was recently spotted in Akron, Ohio, and it clearly pokes fun at both James and Cleveland with the 29-year-old now returning to the Cavaliers after four successful years with their Eastern Conference rivals the Miami Heat where won back-to-back championships.
