Smith set to face Abraham for WBO title on Saturday night…
Ahead of his WBO super-middleweight title fight against Arthur Abraham in Kiel on Saturday night, Paul Smith received a brilliant message of support from the Kop.
The 31-year-old has already flown out to Germany and participated in a public workout on Tuesday ahead of a press conference with his rival on Wednesday.
Smith is fully aware that this is likely to be the biggest opportunity of his career, and promises to give everything in the ring in order to dethrone ‘King Arthur’.
The Liverpool fan admits that given the style of the pair it could be a classic encounter with both men going toe-to-toe in the centre of the ring and going through a slugfest, and so it is likely to be one not to miss on Saturday night.
Nevertheless, Smith received a brilliant message of support from the Kop ahead of the club’s cup clash against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, and with reports that he has sold up to 2,000 tickets for the fight, he will hope to reward his travelling fans.
