Liverpool badly need their first-choice fullback back in the side…
Liverpool and England right-back Glen Johnson has told his fans on Twitter his cast is coming off today.
The 29-year-old picked up a nasty ankle injury in the 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United earlier this month, and the Reds have badly missed the experienced operator.
Young defender Andre Wisdom deputised at right-back in the 2-2 draw with Swansea, and centre-back Kolo Toure covered the position in Liverpool’s drab 01- defeat at home to Southampton at the weekend.
Liverpool badly lacked width and dynamism up the right flank without Johnson, and Reds fans will be delighted his injury recovery is going well.
They hope to have him back by the end of October, although he will miss England’s World Cup qualifiers next month.
