Football is often a very, very complicated business: agent fees, goal-line technology, stadium redevelopment inter-council relations – there’s plenty of things that can give clubs a headache.
One thing that should be pretty clear cut is the kit man’s job. For the most part, he needs to remember to bring the correct official apparel for his club’s team to wear on match day. Short of washing, drying and hanging it all up in the changing room that’s about all there is to it.
And yet the Millwall kit man has conspired to fail in that department. The Lions arrived at Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday for their Championship clash, only to realise that the kit man had packed the wrong colour kit.
The result? Millwall had to play the game in Sheffield Wednesday’s away kit, loaned to them for the day by the club:
