Bosh to undergo lung tests: Doctors fear he may have blood clot.
It was announced on Saturday that Bosh had developed blood clots in one of his lungs and would therefore be ruled out for the rest of the season.
However, his health was undoubtedly of higher importance as he was admitted to hospital late last week after complaining of discomfort.
The team revealed that he was receiving care guided by Heat physicians at a South Florida hospital and is resting comfortably as the type of issue will require a significant lay off from physical activity.
However, the Heat center took a second to share a picture from his hospital bed to thank the fans for the support and messages in recent days with former teammate LeBron James leading the way on social media.
“His health will be restored,” Coach Erik Spoelstra said before Saturday’s game against the Pelicans, ESPN reports.
“That’s the most important thing. That’s bigger than basketball.”
It was a particularly scary period for both Bosh and his family considering that former Portland Trail Blazers star Jerome Kersey died suddenly on Wednesday due to a blood clot in his lung.
Last month, Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic was ruled out for the season with clots in his lungs, while Cleveland center Anderson Varejao went through a similar situation back in 2012.
Nevertheless, with Bosh’s health now taking priority, basketball will be put on hold until next season when he has hopefully made a full recovery.
