Sam Burgess has thanked Rabbitohs fans after the club’s NRL grand final win on Sunday.
Departing South Sydney Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess has taken to Instagram to thank the club and its fans after the Bunnies won the NRL premiership on Sunday.
The 25-year-old won the Clive Churchill Medal despite fracturing his right cheekbone during the 24-point win over the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.
“Words can’t describe what tonight meant to not only me but the thousands of people who love this club,” he wrote.
“Thanks and I’m forever greatfull (sic).”
Burgess will now leave for his native England to play rugby union with Aviva Premiership club Bath.
