Argentinian starlet linked with switch to Tottenham.
Tottenham target Erik Lamela was a part of the Roma squad that was presented to the supporters at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday evening.
The 21-year-old joined his current team-mates in an Open Day at the stadium during which the first-team squad was presented to the Curva Sud, along with new coach Rudi Garcia.
While the likes of Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti predictably received the biggest ovations, the supporters reserved a special welcome for new signings Maicon and Kevin Strootman.
However, perhaps the biggest news of the presentation was that Lamela took part despite reports on Wednesday evening suggesting that his agent was in Madrid to agree terms with Tottenham as reported by Football Italia.
The Roma tifosi welcomed the talented youngster with a huge cheer as he made his way across the Curva, but there was still signs of unrest as they jeered and whistled at several points during the presentation.
While the sale of striker Pablo Osvaldo was undoubtedly a welcome one, it is expected that if Lamela were to be sold there is likely to be an angry response.
