Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri seems to have gotten over his anger at failing to make France’s 2014 FIFA World Cup squad after his girlfriend, model Anara Atanes, posted this picture on social media website Instagram of the pair celebrating the player’s birthday.
Nasri reacted angrily, after claims arose that French manager Didier Deschamps had left him out of his World Cup squad due to an attitude problem.
Deschamps said at the time of the decision: “Samir is an important player for Manchester City but he has not performed that well with France,” Deschamps said. “He is a starter at City, which is not the case with France and he has made clear that he is not happy when he is not [a starter], and I can tell you it can be felt in the squad. I built the best squad, I did not pick the 23 best French players.”
France play Nigeria tomorrow in the Last 16 of the World Cup, after an impressive start that saw them top Group E with seven points.
