Russian ace in English capital to watch boyfriend in action at Queen’s Club.
Maria Sharapova may appear like a super-human goddess on the tennis court, but when in London the five-time Grand Slam champion rides the Tube just like us mortal muggles.
The 27-year-old won her second French Open singles title on Saturday, beating Simona Halep in an epic three-hour final at Roland Garros.
Sharapova was then at Queen’s Club on Tuesday afternoon to watch Bulgarian boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov defeat Britain’s James Ward 7-5 6-3 in round two of the AEGON Championships.
Later in the evening, she posted the below picture on her Twitter feed.
Using just a pair of sunglasses, she seems to be doing a good job of disguising herself, as nobody on the Piccadilly line train is paying her any attention at all.
