The Green and Gold Army arrived in South America on Tuesday.
After touching down in Brazil ahead of their friendly with the World Cup hosts on Sunday it’s unlikely the Socceroos anticipated a ferocious welcome from the local populace.
While their arrival in South America was quiet and understated, the one reserved for a member of the Green and Gold Army was far more grand, as a couple of Samba natives popped along to greet QUT journalism student @ElMengem in typically colourful style and exuberant style – drum and homemade sign included and much to the chagrin of a local journalist!
@mikeamor7 @peterstefanovic Bet you didn’t get the arrival our guy @ElMengem got at the airport #BRAvAUS @Socceroos pic.twitter.com/g556uqP5rb
