4. Bryce Petty, Baylor
A running QB in a powerful offensive attack at Baylor, Petty led Baylor to a co-Championship in the Big 12 conference in 2014 and an outright Big 12 Championship in 2013. A strong NFL arm on par with what teams need to be successful, but not a rocket capable of making all of the throws. But Petty has leadership intangibles which he demonstrated in Baylor’s 21-point comeback win over TCU this past year.
Petty’s major flaw is that he comes from a one-read system – a trait which has proven to be the doom of many NFL QB hopefuls. Petty also showed at the combine that some of his game speed may have been a mirage as he ran a disappointing 4.87 40-time for a QB who often relied on his legs to make plays.
