3. Brett Hundley, UCLA
Size, speed, arm strength – all that’s missing is NFL-caliber progressions, and that has undoubtedly come back to haunt him after he chose to forego the NFL draft in 2014. Hundley is a sharp mind and very accurate with the ball and of course is very fast for a player of his size – he posted a 4.63 40-time at the NFL Combine.
But Hundley had a tendency to get sacked a lot in college – 125 times over three seasons. QBs tend to get sacked MORE in the NFL, so that doesn’t bode well for Hundley if he can’t find ways to get the ball out faster. Ultimately though, his lack of experience making the NFL throws is going to keep him from being chosen to be a team’s franchise QB in the first round. He’ll be lucky to get picked up in the 2nd round even.
