1) Floyd “Money” Mayweather
Some call it confidence, others call it arrogance, and most call him names that can’t be said on TV or radio, but “Money” wins – as he always has – the title of the biggest ego in sports.
With more money pocketed just from his matches than perhaps any athlete in the history of sports, Mayweather has never been afraid to show off his extraordinary wealth – which even he has stated he has no idea how much money he actually has – to the point of having different luxury cars for every time he travels to a different city in America. In an ESPN interview before making several hundred million dollars by beating Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather went so far as to give a tour of his house while carry a backpack with over $1 million in pure cash.
Even in the aftermath of being sent to jail for domestic violence, the defiant Mayweather has always maintained that he did nothing wrong – not because he would never lay his hands on a woman, but because there were “no pictures” and “no footage” of him doing the heinous actions.
Arrogance and ego personified, there may never be another Floyd Mayweather. In the ring that would be a tragedy, outside the ring… not so much…
