The Blues are shaping up to be quite the force in the Premier League.
Chelsea have confirmed their third major signing of the summer in the shape of Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis.
The 28-year-old joins former teammate at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, Diego Costa, and Cesc Fabregas on the list of new faces at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho’s squad is starting to look extremely strong and here is how fanatix thinks the Blues will lineup in the 2014/15 season.
GK – Thibaut Courtois
Another who has impressed at Atleti, with the 22-year-old goalkeeper having been on-loan in the Spanish capital for the past three years.
During that time Courtois has become recognised as one of the best stoppers on the planet and is expected to start between the sticks ahead of Petr Cech.
RB – Cesar Azpilicueta
With Filipe having been bought the Spaniard’s role at left-back from 2013/14 will no longer be required.
However, Mourinho is a big fan of Azpilicueta’s and we think the 24-year-old will get the nod at right-back ahead of Branislav Ivanovic.
CB – Gary Cahill
Last season this England international finally showed that he is top-class star and made up one half of the best central defensive partnership in the Premier League.
CB – John Terry
Alongside Cahill is a much more experienced figure and unlike fellow veterans Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard, the captain was given a new deal at the Bridge this summer.
LB – Filipe Luis
Completing what is beginning to look like a formidable back line is their latest new signing, with Filipe having won La Liga, the Europa League and the Copa del Rey during his four years with Atletico.
