Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal – October 2003
One of the major speed bumps in Arsenal’s unbeaten, invincible season but the Gunners came through unscathed.
The North Londoners were without midfield stalwart Patrick Vieira and were already 1-0 down after 13 minutes. Liverpool could have been further ahead at the break with only Jens Lehmann keeping the score respectable.
Arsenal managed to get level when Sami Hyypia deflected a Pires free kick and the Frenchman was involved once again to get the Gunners infront when he unleashed a bending, arching shot from the left of the 18 yard box.
