Colts WR Reggie Wayne made his much anticipated return to Indianapolis last week but was held without a catch. He will almost definitely sit out the team’s final preseason game.
The Indianapolis Colts will play against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday in the last week of the NFL preseason.
The Colts have been playing very hard in their preseason games, losing their last three games by a total margin of only 10 points, which indicates that they have been neck and neck with their opponents for the majority of the game. QB Andrew Luck along with WRs T.Y. Hilton, Hakeem Nicks and Reggie Wayne are expected to sit out the game, which means the Colts have a great opportunity to find a suitable backup RB for Trent Richardson, who has struggled since the team traded for him in 2013.
The Bengals have been dealing with injuries, losing RB Jeremy Hill for some time and seeing All-Pro LB Vontaze Burfict go down after signing a extension. QB Andy Dalton and Pro Bowl WR A.J. Green will sit the game out, as will the majority of the starters from the defense that was ranked in the top 5 in 2013.
Prediction: Bengals – Cincinnati has a very deep team on offense and has a great secondary that handle almost anything even with its backups.
