The Indianapolis Colts will look to recover from their preseason opener loss as they take on the New York Giants Saturday.
They lost 13-10 to the New York Jets, but quarterback Andrew Luck looked as sharp as ever on his sole offensive drive with the Colts.
Matt Hasselbeck also looked great and gives the Colts a reliable backup if anything ever happens to Luck.
T.Y. Hilton appears primed to have a big season, and he caught three passes for 38 yards. Reggie Wayne is expected to be ready for the season opener against the Denver Broncos, but the Colts may choose to sit him for the Giants game.
In the secondary, Vontae Davis and LaRon Landry will return after nursing injuries. They will instantly upgrade a weak area for the Colts.
The Giants had a comeback win against the Steelers in their preseason game, thanks to a game-winning touchdown pass from Curtis Painter.
Painter is behind Ryan Nassib on the depth chart for now, but Nassib still has a hold on the No. 2 job. He will look to hold off Painter after having a forgettable preseason debut.
The running game excelled with Rashad Jennings leading the way, and Kendall Gaskins and Andre Williams turned in solid performances too. Jennings is expected to become the starter while Williams will receive plenty of carries as well.
