The Houston Texans have played well on defense this season, and they have plowed through the majority of the season with outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney, who the Texans selected first overall in the draft. Clowney is nursing a knee injury.
Although the Texans rank 29th in total defense, they rank sixth in scoring defense with just 20 points allowed per game.
Defensive end J.J. Watt has enjoyed a great season, but he is sure to become even more of a terror for opposing offenses when Clowney returns.
Here is a tweet from NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport releasing the update on Clowney’s injury.
The #Texans goal was to have Jadeveon Clowney ready tonight vs. #Steelers. He’ll test his knee pregame, but doubtful he plays. Not ready.
