The Houston Texans defense will have to finish their 2014 season as they have played for most of the season as rookie outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will be placed on injured reserve.
Clowney suffered a knee injury in Week 1, and he has been unable to fully recover since. The Texans have tried to nurse him back to full health, but they have to decided to keep him 100 percent healthy for the 2015 season.
The fearsome pass rusher was drafted first overall by the Texans in the 2014 draft, and he was expected to help defensive end J.J. Watt wreak havoc on opposing offenses. It remains to be seen how well he can recover.
Here is a tweet from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter releasing the unfortunate news for Texans fans.
