The Indianapolis Colts have the No. 2 offense in the NFL with 30.9 points scored per game, and having a better receiving corps and offensive line has helped quarterback Andrew Luck put together the best season of his career.
However, the Colts offense has taken a hit as wide receiver Reggie Wayne will sit out Week 8 due to an elbow injury. Wayne had sustained this injury in their 27-0 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Colts are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they will move forward with T.Y. Hilton and Hakeem Nicks as the starting wide receivers. Wayne is second on the team in receiving with 38 receptions and 434 yards, and he also has one touchdown catch.
Wayne has been of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL throughout his career, but he has reached age 35 and is becoming more injury-prone the older he gets.
He was able to reach 1,000 receiving yards in his seven consecutive seasons though from 2004-10, and he reached it again in 2012.
