The Minnesota Vikings are even more depleted at running back now that rookie Jerick McKinnon is out for the season with a lower back injury.
The Vikings offense already received the biggest blow possible when Adrian Peterson was indicted on child abuse charges, which has kept him out since Week 1.
Matt Asiata and Ben Tate will carry the load in McKinnon’s absence, and Tate is still learning the Vikings offense after being claimed off waivers on Nov. 20.
Here is a tweet from NFL Access confirming the Vikings’ decision on McKinnon.
