The Vikings announced this morning that QB Matt Cassel and G Brandon Fusco were placed on season-ending injured reserve.
With Cassel out, rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater will be the starter for the Vikings for the foreseeable future. The Vikings drafted Bridgewater No. 32 overall after trading up into the 1st round with the Seattle Seahawks.
Losing Fusco is an equally big blow for Minnesota. The Vikings had just given him a five-year, $25 million contract this offseason, as the former sixth-round pick had turned into a reliable starter up front.
