Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. missed most of training camp and the entire preseason with a hamstring injury.
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin announced that WR Odell Beckham Jr., who the Giants drafted with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 draft, would likely miss two to three more weeks as he continues to battle a hamstring injury that he re-aggravated in practice last month.
”Let’s just let this kid get better, OK,” Coughlin said after practice. ”Settle down, let the kid get better. I went to him yesterday to say: ‘Let’s just not have any more setbacks.’ Whatever it takes to get over this, let’s do this. Let’s encourage him and not let him feel like an outsider. Let’s get on with it.”
Coughlin continued, ”To talk about him every day… I’ll let you know when he is ready to do something. I’ll let you know.”
Beckham missed almost all of training camp and did not play in any of the team’s five preseason games. He did not practice Monday as the Giants began preparations for the regular-season opener at Detroit next Monday night.
