LB Jon Beason suffered a toe injury that required further tests from doctors, but as reported by multiple Giants beat reporters on Monday, Beason will have surgery to repair the injury and miss the rest of the season as he begins recovering from it.
Beason was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the Giants last season in exchange for a 7th round draft pick. He started 11 games for the Giants and recorded over 90 tackles that season. But in only 4 games played in 2014, Beason recorded less than a dozen tackles.
Beason made three straight Pro Bowls and two All-Pro selections for the Panthers from 2008 to 2010, but a pair of season ending injuries in 2011 and 2012 caused him to miss 27 out of 32 games.
