Milliner injured his leg during a FG attempt by the Denver Broncos in a 31-17 loss on Sunday, dropping the Jets to a 1-5 record on the season.
Milliner, who was the Rookie of the Month in December of the 2013 season, struggled to see the field this season – injuring his leg in the preseason and not fully recovering throughout the first month or so.
The New York Jets drafted Milliner No. 9 overall in the 2013 NFL draft after trading former All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis. Following the 2013 season, the Jets released Pro Bowl CB Antonio Cromartie to free up cap space, but the team did not use that cap space to find a suitable replacement for Cromartie, instead opting for a cheap one-year deal for Dimitri Patterson, who was later cut after poor performance and going AWOL from the team. The team also drafted CB Dexter McDougle in the 3rd round to compete for a starting job, but McDougle suffered a season ending injury in training camp.
