Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter was hit hard by a Houston Texans defender – so hard in fact that he had to go to the hospital.
Hunter remains in a Houston hospital after suffering a lacerated spleen during the team’s lopsided loss to the Texans. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Hunter is expected to be there well into the week while he recovers.
Doctors don’t think Hunter needs surgery and Wyatt reports that rest is what the Titans WR needs for the time being. There’s no set recovery time for Hunter, but the severity of the injury and need for recovery time – since internal organs heal differently from bones and ligaments – may make it hard for him to return for the rest of the season.
In his second season with the Titans, Hunter has 28 catches for 498 yards and three TDs.
