Robert Griffin III has a long history of injuries – this one looks serious.
Washington QB Robert Griffin III has been carted off the field with an apparent lower leg injury. During a scrambling pass play the electrifying QB landed awkwardly on his leg.
Griffin was rolling out to his right when he took an awkward step and fell to the ground out of bounds, appearing to be in pain as he landed.
There was no immediate word on the nature of the injury, but the team’s medical staff surrounded him on the sideline, and he was then placed on a cart and taken to the locker room.
Griffin’s sensational rookie season ended with a major knee injury in the playoffs, and his second season was plagued by questions about whether he was all the way back to full speed. Washington eventually shut him down for the season with three games to play.
