The Nerazzurri are set to undergo a massive overhaul of their first-team squad at San Siro when this current campaign draws to a close after what has been yet another desperately disappointing season by their high standards.
And top of the club’s wish list is a new forward to help fire them back to the top of the standings in Italy, with Inter understood to be targeting three attackers this summer, the unsettled Chelsea marksman, as well as both Manchester City’s Eden Dzeko and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
“We will sign a striker in the summer and he will be of European standard,” Thohir is reported to have said in Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We have a lot of candidates in our list.
“We have to sign a striker and reports point to Dzeko, Morata and Torres, and it would be great if one of them was to join us.”
Torres, 30, is contracted to the west London club until June 2016 and has only found the back of the net on four occasions so far this season in 24 appearances for the Blues.
