Serie A outfit interested in England winger.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are hoping to lure Tottenham Hotspur midfield player Aaron Lennon away from White Hart Lane and to the San Siro for £8 million at the end of this current campaign, according to reports from the Metro newspaper.
The England international is currently enjoying perhaps his best ever season in north London, culminating with yet another eye catching display for Andre Villas-Boas’s men in Sunday’s hugely important 2-1 win over arch rivals Arsenal at the Lane in the Premier League – a result that moved the home side seven points clear of the Gunners in the race for Champions League football next season.
The 25 year old was even on hand to score Tottenham’s crucial second and ultimately winning goal to cap off his brilliant performance, although ironically that result may end up scuppering Inter’s hopes of signing the skilful player come the summer.
And that is because it appears to have given Villas-Boas and Co enough breathing space between themselves and Arsenal so as to be confident of playing in next season’s European Cup, a fact that would almost certainly see Lennon decide to remain at the Lane and therefore ultimately reject the Italian giants’ advances.
