Serie A side Inter Milan are ready to offer Chelsea flop Fernando Torres a way out of Stamford Bridge, after he returns from the World Cup.
Much maligned Chelsea striker Fernando Torres’ underwhelming spell at Stamford Bridge could finally be coming to an end, with Serie A giants Inter Milan showing an interest in signing the former Liverpool man according to talkSPORT.
The report suggests that former Inter owner Massimo Moratti remains a huge fan of the £50 million man and that he may still hold some sway in the corridors of power at the San Siro despite only retaining a minor stake in the Serie A club.
With the signing of Diego Costa seemingly imminent at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea would surely be happy to offload Torres if they can recoup some of the fee that they initially paid to Liverpool when the Spanish striker was at the height of his powers.
Moratti was also handed the role of ceremonial president on his departure from Inter Milan, meaning that he may still have the ear of the new owners when it comes to topics such as potential marquee signings as Inter attempt to climb back to the top table of European football.
Since winning the Champions League under Jose Mourinho, Inter have plummeted somewhat, missing out on qualification for the tournament entirely in the previous two seasons.
