Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was forced off the pitch in Argentina’s 2-0 loss to Ecuador, and teammate Nicolas Otamendi revealed that his compatriot was in tears in the dressing room.

As a result, it remains to be seen whether or not Aguero will be fit to face Bournemouth on October 17 as City look to solidify their place at the top of the Premier League table.
Elsewhere, Ivanovic left Serbia’s game against Albania after 65 minutes after pulling his hamstring, and compatriot Matic was substituted just eight minutes later with a muscular problem.
While that will be enough for Jose Mourinho to deal with back at Stamford Bridge next weekend, Louis van Gaal faces a nervous wait as Bastian Schweinsteiger didn’t even make it onto the pitch for Germany in their encounter with the Republic of Ireland.
The 31-year-old suffered a thigh injury in the warm-up, and is now a doubt for the trip to Everton as Manchester United look to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Arsenal prior to the international break.
