Best bowler – Muttiah Muralitharan
While his figures from last season were nothing to celebrate, his form over the court of his IPL career mean opposing batsmen should count out Muttiah Muralitharan at their own peril.
Still able to land the ball on a spot, while also going for no more seven runs an over on average, Muralitharan will ensure that runs start to dry up while also enticing a wicket at any moment.
An integral part of the Chennai Super Kings line-up in the first three seasons of the IPL, the 41-year-old was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IPL Player Auction 2011.
With 15 wickets at a niggardly 6.5 runs per over, Murali proved, in IPL 2012, his wizardry hasn’t left him yet, something he is looking to prove again in 2014.
