One of the most destructive batsmen in the world, Sehwag – who was originally a middle-order batsman – has redefined the role of an opener.
With minimal footwork, but great hand-eye coordination, Sehwag goes after every delivery that deserves to be hit and some that didn’t.
He has won many games for India with his big hitting. However, Sehwag is yet to perform as consistently in the Twenty20 format as he does in the longer versions of the game.
Apart from being an attacking batsman, he is a handy off-spinner and is known to use his wiles to both, check the flow of runs, and take wickets, and he will be keen to make up for his below average season in 2013, given he averaged 33 at a strike-rate of 161 the year before.
