LM: Ryan Gauld – Sporting Lisbon and Scotland
The teenage winger has been turning heads for Sporting’s B team this season, though he has yet to receive a call up to the Scotland side. Able to play on the wing or through the middle, his vision, dribbling ability and versatility could prove to be an enormous asset.
CM: Emyr Huws – Wigan Athletic and Wales
Huws was tipped for big things at Manchester City, but thanks to their cavalcade of superstars he was forced to drop down a division to join Wigan. Already with four caps to his name, there is a feeling that he won’t be outside of the top flight for long as his long distance shooting a quarterback like range of passing makes sure he stands out.
CM: Michael Carrick – Manchester United and England
A seasoned England international with 31 caps to his name. However, at 33 years of age, it may soon be time for him to kiss his spot within the national team goodbye as Roy Hodgson looks to bring in the next generation of English midfielders. However, in this young side he would be a strong anchor to keep the transition from back to front ticking over. The third and final overage player to be included.
RM: Harry Wilson – Liverpool and Wales
A prodigiously talented winger. Wilson, 18, made his international debut last year, though he has so far not made an appearance in the Liverpool senior side. However, he is set for a big future with both club and country, and fans can likely expect to see him head out on loan next season to start fulfilling that potential.
