Cronulla hooker jumps ship in the NRL on mid-year deal.
The Parramatta Eels will tomorrow announce the signing of Isaac De Gois to a two-year deal after the Cronulla Sharks released him early from his current contract.
De Gois will replace the injured Nathan Peats after he tore his ACL thus ruling him out for the rest of the season.
His final game with the Sharks will not be a happy one for the 29-year-old after they were flogged 30-0 by St George Illawarra on Saturday.
The hooker told teammates after the game of his future and lock Wade Graham said it will be sad to see a player of his ability leave the club.
“I think he was trying to keep it quiet and keep the boys focused on the game, but it broke in the media,” Graham said.
“I don’t think he had even told his parents yet as he wanted to keep it to himself, but he got us in a group and we had a little chat after the game.
“None of us begrudge him. He’s got to do what he has to do, you have to look after your family and as friends we wish him all the best.”
