Frenchman ridicules the North Londoners after European Cup mauling.
Bayern Munich wide man Franck Ribery has confessed that he and his team-mates could not quite believe just how straight forward it was to beat Arsenal in the Champions League this week, says the Sun.
The Bavarians won the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie 3-1 at the Emirates on Tuesday night, with the return encounter taking place at the Allianz Arena in three weeks’ time, with France international Ribery admitting: “We didn’t think it would be so easy.
“We know Arsenal are having some problems in the league, maybe they are lacking in confidence.
“But we feel good and we’re delighted to have got that result.
“We’re all working hard together, with the will to play well, to win, to defend together. It’s important to carry on like this.
“We will have to match that performance in the return leg. We’re in good shape to reach the quarter-finals but nothing is ever over in football.”
Meanwhile, giant Bayern centre-back Daniel van Buyten added: “We have taken the first step, that’s for sure.
“We’ll prepare well for the return match because Arsenal are still a big gun.”
