After the Gunners’ failed bid, Serie A club Napoli have emerged as a contender to reach a deal for the Italian defender.
Juventus have not received a formal bid offer from Napoli for Rugani yet, but the Italian club is expected to ramp up their efforts to land him.
Rugani spent last season with Empoli on a loan deal and made 39 appearances while scoring three goals.
Empoli finished in 15th place in the Serie A standings as they narrowly avoided relegation, thanks to Rugani’s promising play.
The Italian starlet has not made an appearance for Juventus, but he has made nine appearances for the Italy U21 team.
Although Napoli appear to be the frontrunner at this point, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be persistent in their pursuit of the Italian international.
