Teenager tipped for bright future after impressive start.
The agent of Sassuolo starlet Domenico Berardi has insisted that he will stay with the club until the end of the season despite recent speculation suggesting a departure.
The 19-year-old made the headlines this past weekend with a hat-trick against Sampdoria, and that has led to rumours that he could move on during the winter break.
Having impressed during his stint in Serie B last year, Berardi was snapped up by Juventus in a €4.5m deal on deadline day as part of the move which saw midfielder Luca Marrone co-sign for the newly promoted club.
However, it appears as though he will continue with the club at least until the summer, as they look to continue their recent resurgence and avoid immediate relegation.
“I don’t think that he could abandon Sassuolo in January,” Beppe Galli noted, as reported by Football Italia. “It would be better for his development to continue working with his present club for the whole season.”
“The compliments are nice, but let us not raise the bar too high. We are happy with the goals and getting a hat-trick is never easy, but now comes the difficult part.
“If he doesn’t score for a few games then people will start talking of a crisis…”
Following his impressive year in Serie B coupled with his latest goal-scoring exploits, Berardi has been pinpointed as a potential star for the future.
However, with competition for places high at Juventus after their summer acquisitions, it is understood that both he and his agent are keen to continue his development at Sassuolo.
Galli admitted that while the Bianconeri were the quickest to target him in the summer, the player must “keep his feet on the ground” and see what develops in the future.
