However, the former defender has called on the Gunners to replicate that same football on the biggest stage ahead of their make or break Champions League match with AS Monaco on Tuesday. The North London club lost the first leg 1-3 at home and need a big turnaround in order to go through to the quarter finals of the competition.
This was a slightly backhanded compliment, with the Sky Sports pundit making the caveat that they only played attractively at home against weak or struggling teams.
Neville said: “Arsenal’s result against West Ham is what they do. I was at the Emirates two weeks ago when they played Aston Villa and they destroyed them. The football they play is absolutely brilliant, it’s the best football in the country in terms of passing against a team at home who are struggling.
“But on Tuesday night, they are playing Monaco away in the Champions League and we’ve got to see it then.”
The North London club also still have games against Liverpool and Manchester United to go in the Premier League, which will also be tests of how Arsene Wenger’s men face up against the best sides.
