Emirates Stadium academy graduate Wilshere is confident that new boy Welbeck will hit the ground running at the club:
“He has got great enthusiasm, he wants to run, he will track back, and he has got great quality.”
“A lot of people don’t give him credit for his technical ability, but he is great on the ball. I am sure there were a few clubs wanting him and there are not many players his age who move from one big club to another big club so that shows his quality.”
Welbeck signed for the Gunners and manager Arsene Wenger on transfer deadline day for a £16 million fee from Premier League rivals Manchester United and is likely to become the club’s central attacking option in the absence of the injured Olivier Giroud.
