Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to return to training next week, according to reports.
The England international suffered a hairline fracture in his left fibula before the Gunners’ FA Community Shield win over Chelsea in August.
Despite Arsene Wenger believing his star man would return within days, a later prognosis confirmed the 23-year-old will miss the start of the season.
According to Daily Express, Wilshere is expected to rejoin first-team training next week although it is highly unlikely he will feature in Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.
He is also likely to miss the Gunners’ much-anticipated clash with Chelsea on September 19 at Stamford Bridge.
In other Arsenal injury news, striker Danny Welbeck is expected to be out until at least Christman after undergoing knee surgery.
The Gunners currently sit sixth on the Premier League table after winning two of its opening four fixtures.
