One-time England international Jake Livermore will not play for Hull City again this season after testing positive for cocaine.
According to The Telegraph, the 25-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder failed a random drugs test in the wake of last month’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
The national newspaper report that Hull are likely to release a statement on Liverpool later today.
In the meantime, fans have had plenty to say on Twitter. The best of the reaction can be read below…
Livermore will be missed by Hull, who face Spurs and Manchester United in their final two games, needing to win at least one of them to stay in the Premier League.
