2015 NFL Draft: Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Jameis Winston 1st overall as Tennessee Titans take Marcus Mariota 2nd
He has already signed his rookie contract with the Buccaneers, and it is worth $23.35 million over four years. It comes at a price though.
The Buccaneers quarterback will not be able to play baseball, as a clause has been included in his contract that strictly prohibits him from playing baseball.
Winston was a relief pitcher for Florida State, and he served as their closer as he notched seven saves while striking out 31 batters in 33.1 innings with a 1.08 earned run average.
He was suspended from baseball at one point for his infamous crab leg shoplifting incident.
His character concerns have been a constant concern in football as well due to his rape allegations and yelling an obscenity in front of students that got him suspended for a game in football.
However, he will be able to focus solely on football now that he won’t be able to play baseball, as intended by his contract clause.
