New Liverpool signing James Milner has made it two goals in two games by scoring in their pre-season friendly against Adelaide United this afternoon.
The free transfer from Manchester City scored the winning goal in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Brisbane Roar on Friday, in which he also provided Adam Lallana with an assist.

And the England midfielder found the net again this afternoon to break 67 minutes of deadlock in Australia with the opening goal from Jordon Ibe’s low cross. Watch the strike in the below video.
Milner seems to already be benefiting from being deployed in a central position, having seen his goal threat at City restricted as he was often shifted out to the wing by Manuel Pellegrini.
The 29-year-old managed only five goals in 32 appearances for the Citizens in the Premier League last season, but now seems to have rediscovered the scoring touch of his Aston Villa days.
Milner’s best year in front of goal was when bagged 12 in all competitons for club and country in the 2009-10 campaign – his final season in the Midlands before his switch to Manchester.
