Jamie Vardy got Leicester City fans in the party mood on Saturday evening when he broke the deadlock in his side’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, also breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record for scoring in consecutive Premier League games in the process.
Vardy, who has now found the net in 11 straight matches, celebrated by running and shouting. We don’t have a qualified lip-reader in the office, but we are pretty confident there was an F-bomb in there.
After the game, Sky Sports interviewed Vardy. They played a replay of his goal celebration and pundit Ruud Gullit asked him what he said. Understandably, the Foxes hitman declined the opportunity to repeat it.
Vardy’s goal was cancelled out by Bastian Schweinsteiger on the stroke of half time.
United bossed possession after the interval, but Leicester came closest to scoring a winner on the counter-attack when substitute Leonardo Ulloa forced David de Gea to pull off an excellent save.
