The Belgian centre-back has grown frustrated with his lack of Premier League playing time under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, and there are suggestions that he could look for a move away.
Arsenal desperately need defensive reinforcements, and Arsene Wenger was known to be interested in the former Ajax man before he made the move to Tottenham in 2012.
