Boxing legends throw verbals haymakers after failed fight with Shane Mosley.
Former world champion Jeff Fenech has slammed Anthony Mundine for the way he has handled himself throughout the build-up and aftermath of his non-fight with Shane Mosley.
The American superstar was set to fight in Australia for the first time for a reported $1 million pay day, but the bout came under question from Mosley’s camp when they failed to pay the remaining $700,000 before the first bell.
Amid speculation only 1500 tickets had been sold for the much-hyped fight, Mosley and his team returned to Los Angeles saying there had been a breech of contract.
The fiasco has left the Australian boxing scene with egg on its faces as Mosley’s standing in the world of boxing will mean anything he says about his treatment will carry weight.
Fenech, who added a reported $500,000 to get the possibility of the bout rolling, will lose all if not most of his investment.
“Before this it was on shaky ground,” Fenech said of Mundine’s career. “Now it is on no ground… I believe that Anthony has done what he has always done – he’s been classless and he doesn’t think about what he says.
