Former Newcastle United, Manchester City, Leicester City and Bolton Wanderers defender Steve Howey has urged Everton centre-back John Stones to reject the advances of Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
England international Stones was the subject of a £20m bid from Chelsea, which Everton rejected.
The Premier League champions are reportedly now set to up their offer to £26m – a figure the Toffees may accept.
However, Howey, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, thinks a move to Chelsea would not be good for the 21-year-old.

“He has such a bright, bright future and for me personally I don’t think moving to Chelsea at this moment would be good for him.”
Stones made 23 Premier League appearances for Everton last season, as well as three in the Europa League.
