Chelsea have angered Everton manager Roberto Martinez, due to their aggressive pursuit of defender John Stones.
The drama continues to heat up, with Chelsea skipper John Terry accused of tapping up the youngster, according to the Daily Mirror.
Terry praised the 21-year-old Everton defender and suggested that he would be worthy of replacing him at Chelsea, which angered Martinez.
“You know that is illegal, the rules don’t allow you to comment on players that are registered at other clubs in that open manner, that is disappointing,” Martinez said.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has also made the Everton boss angry, as he was ripped for supposedly publicising the clubs’ negotiations.
The Blues have already made two bid offers to Everton for Stones, but their £20m and £26m were subsequently rejected.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea continue its pursuit of Stones as they are reportedly closing in on a deal for Augsburg defender Baba Rahman.
Everton are expected to hold onto Stones, as Martinez has insisted that the Everton star is not for sale.
They may choose to sign him to a long-term deal, as they have already done so with a five-year contract for midfielder James McCarthy.
